Cathay Pacific increases order for 777-300ERs

Cathay Pacific Airways has exercised an option for six additional extended range Boeing 777-300s assembled in Everett, the Boeing Co. said today.

The planes are valued at $1.6 billion, but customers rarely pay list prices.

Boeing said Cathay Pacific now has 36 777-300ERs on order, its fourth increase since it began purchasing the planes in 2005.

It operates 12 777-300s and five 777-200s.
