ARLINGTON — Clearwater Spas, which manufactures traditional and high-tech hot tubs in Woodinville, has inked a deal to lease 50,000 square feet of industrial space at the new Gayteway Business Park, a 54-acre site near Arlington Municipal Airport.
Gayteway’s developer, GS Venture Partners of Bellevue, plans to break ground on the business park’s first structures this spring.
GS Venture plans two buildings, including the facility that will house Clearwater Spas.
“The buildings are going to be under construction in about a month. They’re just waiting for the final permits,” said Al Hodge, leasing agent with Broderick Group, which brokered the deal.
Gayteway is the site of the former Northwest Hardwoods and Weyerhaeuser log mill at 67th Ave. NE.
Brent Conver, CEO of Clearwater Spas, said the “opportunity to design a manufacturing facility will increase productivity and support growth into new product offerings for our company going forward.”
When completed, the Clearwater building will provide 4,000 square feet of office space and 46,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
Chris Gayte, the developer behind GS Venture, purchased the property in late 2015 for $4.2 million, according to Snohomish County tax records.
Gayte said at the time that it would take three to five years to build out the business park.
He plans to build up to 1 million square feet of manufacturing and industrial work areas.
