I knew Jimmy Quillen seemed like a pretty good guy when I talked with him for this story a few months ago.
Jimmy had just opened his barber shop in Marysville at the time, and was cutting prices to give unemployed customers a break. That seems like the mark of a pretty good guy, right?

Turns out, some of his customers aren’t so bad either.
I got an email from Jimmy and his wife Kameon late last night. They’ve noticed a trend emerging at the shop on Fourth Street: Their customers are “paying it forward.”
Some customers are telling Jimmy they want to pay for an extra haircut at the end of their appointment. That way, if someone comes in and can’t afford the price of a haircut, they’re covered.
The idea is that at some point in the future, that customer will “pay it forward” for someone else.
One good turn deserves another. What goes around comes around. Do unto others. Pick your favorite version — just know that the spirit the golden rule is alive and well at Jimmy’s shop.
