Doctor joins Everett Clinic’s Occupational Medicine department

The Everett Clinic welcomed Dr. Yomi Adekeye to its Occupational Medicine department. Adekeye is now seeing patients in Everett. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Occupational Medicine. Adekeye completed a fellowship in Occupational and Environmental Medicine from University of Texas where she also earned her masters of Public Health. She earned her medical degree from University of Ilorin, Nigeria.

Port announcements retirement, promotion

Long-time Port of Everett Marine Terminal director Dave Madill has announced his retirement and marketing director Walter Seidl has been appointed to the key port role. Madill, who came to the Port of Everett in 2007, officially retires in April. Seidl, a veteran maritime professional who was hired in 2013, began transitioning into Madill’s position on Jan. 15.

Networking meeting planned in Everett

Engage Everett, a networking event that is open to the public, will hold its next community networking and update from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hampton Inn, 2931 West Marine View Drive, Everett. There is no cost to attend.

Restaurant to donate proceeds to fight childhood cancer

Area-residents are invited to dine at Claim Jumper Restaurant &Saloon on Wednesday for its Community Support Night benefiting Ben Towne Foundation, whose mission is to change the way childhood cancers are treated and cured. At the Claim Jumper’s Redmond, Lynnwood and Tukwila locations, the restaurant is donating 15 percent of every guest’s pre-tax food and beverage total to the foundation.

Everett beverage company wins best packaging

Unique Beverage Co.’s new Cascade Ice package topped the list in the Beverage Industry’s Best Packages of 2014 survey with 27 percent of the vote, making it the Best Package of 2014. The Everett-based company decided to release its five most-popular flavors — lemonade, coconut, black raspberry, orange mango and pink grapefruit — in slim and eye-catching 7-ounce bottles.

EvCC to host workshops on federal student aid

Everett Community College is hosting workshops to fill out the free application for federal student aid for 2015-2016. Choose from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 24 at Shuksan Hall room 141 on EvCC’s Everett campus or select 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 26 at EvCC’s East County Campus in Monroe.
