Fred Meyer, QFC look to hire 800 at hiring event

Fred Meyer and QFC grocery store chains look to hire as many as 800 people around the Puget Sound region at a hiring event slated for today.

All candidates interested in a job can apply at jobs.fredmeyer.com or jobs.qfc.com and simply return to a store between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. today, no appointment necessary.

It’s part of a nationwide hiring event for Cincinnati, Ohio-based Kroger Company, which owns Fred Meyer and QFC.

GroWashington to hold ‘Idea to Launch’ business classes

GroWashington will be hosting a four-week series of business classes called ‘Idea to Lauch,’ targeting small businesses and entrepreneurs who desire to take their start-up business to the next level.

Specific objectives for this course are: Build a knowledge base of management, marketing, financing, operating and planning of small businesses through the process of entrepreneurship.

The classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning this Wednesday and will be held on subsequent Wednesdays on Aug. 17, 24 and 31. It will taught at GroWashington, 923 Main St., Sultan.

Learn more about county’s hotel/motel grant fund

The Snohomish County Parks Department is offering a two-hour informational workshop on the Snohomish County Hotel/Motel Small Fund grant application process from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday.

This workshop will review the timeline for the 2017 grant cycle, which closes Sept. 2, and will also review required documentation and grant scoring criteria.

The workshop will be held at the county’s Parks and Recreation Administration Building, 6705 Puget Park Drive, Snohomish.
