Everett-based Intermec Technologies Corp. on Tuesday unveiled its most rugged mobile computer, which is made with a magnesium top cover, rubber bumpers on each corner and a case that’s sealed against water and dust. The CK60 model is designed primarily for delivery drivers and related jobs.
Wal-Mart CEO cites innovation
Wal-Mart is “good for America” and the barrage of criticism against the company is an effort to protect the status quo in retailing, president and CEO Lee Scott said Tuesday in a sharp attack on organized labor and retail rivals. Addressing about 50 journalists gathered at the company’s first media conference, Scott defended its wages and health care plans, criticized by labor groups as inadequate, and said that the company is able to save customers big money as it drives costs out of its system.

Greenspan predicts stable oil prices
High oil and natural gas prices have put energy markets under a degree of strain that hasn’t been seen in a generation, Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said Tuesday, but he warned policy-makers against interfering with market forces he hoped would eventually stabilize prices.
U.S. automakers ease incentives
The traditional Big Three automakers eased off incentive spending in March, counting on new vehicles to lure customers to dealerships. But that likely will change in the coming months, especially if Asian automakers continue to boost incentives and sales, analysts say. GM had the highest average outlay per vehicle at $4,181, while Honda had the lowest at $1,013, Autodata reported.
