Is it just me or does everyone have a jetpack these days?
Yesterday, in Colorado, a former TV stuntman piloted a hydrogen peroxide-fueled jetpack across the Royal Gorge, which is 1,053 feet deep. Here’s the Denver Post report.
Man crosses Colorado’s Royal Gorge with jetpack
Earlier this year, “Fusion Man” crossed the English Channel wearing a homemade jetpack.
If you’re enthralled by man’s pursuit to fly on his own, there’s a new book out on the subject, “Jetpack Dreams: One Man’s Up and Down (But Mostly Down) Search For The Greatest Invention That Never Was.”
The author, Mac Montandon, is also responsible for “Innocent When You Dream: The Tom Waits Reader” – a book about one of my favorite musicians.
Montandon’s latest, “Jetpack Dreams” is reviewed here.
