VOA has customized their 40-hour Basic Mediation Training for All Things HR LLC, which is specially geared toward HR professionals and professionals who deal with employee relations in the workplace. The course covers a detailed eight-stage process and is the first of three courses that is needed for the Mediation Certificate program sponsored by VOA.
By the end of the training participants will be able to:
• Guide two people through the mediation process;
• Facilitate conversations using interest-based negotiation techniques;
• Help people brainstorm win-win solutions;
• Empower others to find workable solutions;
• Identify strategies for working with different conflict management styles; and
• Use mediator communication skills (reflection, reframing, open questions and active listening).
This is an ongoing class and all classes (all 16 evening sessions and the all-day session) must be attended to earn 32 hours of HRCI credits.
