MILL CREEK — Jack in the Bot, the Henry M. Jackson High School robotics team, has done it again.
For a second year in a row, the Mill Creek students took top honors at the Indiana Robotics Invitational.
Their repeat victory “stands as a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students, mentors, and supporters of the Henry M. Jackson High School robotics program,” the school said in a statement.
Competing against some of the nation’s top robotics teams, the Mill Creek team showcased “exceptional skill, teamwork, and innovation,” the school said.
The team clinched the win in their final match by a razor-thin margin of just 2 points.
Known for its high level of competition, the Indiana Robotics Invitational is considered one of the most challenging events in the robotics calendar.
Robots are designed and built in six weeks from a common kit of parts. For the competition, students program and remotely control the robots in short games.
The invitational began in 2000 with a mission to bring together top competitors.
The team is already looking forward to future competitions and continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible in robotics, the school said.
