New hires join Landau’s Edmonds office

Landau Associates has added two people at its Edmonds offices. Jon Polka is a staff engineer in the Environmental Permitting and Compliance group. He is also a nine-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Becky Meggs joined the accounting department as an accounting specialist and will primarily be responsible for accounts payable. She has 23 years of accounting experience in the fishing and healthcare industries.

Boys &Girls Clubs receives several grants

The Boys &Girls Clubs of Snohomish County is the recipient of several recent grants. Pacific Youth Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to the organization. The Nysether Family Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to fund Teen Nights. The EverTrust Foundation awarded a $25,000 grant to execute both the Kids Cafe and Healthy Habits programs.

Monroe athletic club collects food for food bank

A holiday food drive by the Emerald City Athletic Club in Monroe, in support of the Sky Valley Food Bank, netted 8,820 pounds of food. John Canada, owner and manager of the club, organized the event. Canada solicited donations for an auction to be held at the club and offered members fitness dollars for each item of food they donated.

Everett mayor to speak at State of the City address

Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson will present the State of the City address 7:30 to 9 a.m. Jan. 29 at Xfinity Arena, 2000 Hewitt Avenue, Everett. It is a new larger venue for the event which historically sells out in advance. Cost is $30 for Economic Alliance Snohomish County investors, $40 non-investors.
