The Everett Aquasox Baseball Club will offer the 2005 “Academic All-Star” program to recognize the achievements of middle and high school students. Each school will set its own academic goal to be rewarded, such as grade point average achievement or improvement within a semester. Food Lifeline has added Fred Meyer to its Grocery Rescue Program. Twenty-one Fred Meyer stores in Western Washington will participate in this expanded effort to feed the hungry. Two new Monroe-based Web sites, www.monroewabusinessdirectory.com and www.monroewebhosting.com, enable local businesses to market themselves using the Internet. Pilchuck Towing of Lake Stevens has been given the American Towman ACE Award for achievement in service performance.

Efforts

Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. recently raised $5,580 and 1,611 pounds of food for Sky Valley Food Bank. In other company news, Canyon Creek is partnering with the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association and The National Arbor Day Foundation to plant 1,000 trees in support of an industry-wide goal to plant 50,000 trees in a national forest to commemorate the association’s 50th anniversary.
