While home sales have hit a six-year low nationally, the market is still very strong in the Seattle region.
Statistics from the Northwest Multiple Listing Service show local sales have dropped from year-ago figures. Members of the Snohomish County Board of Realtors say that the last few years had been a strong sellers’ market and that conditions now are much more normal.
In recent months, prices have dropped to single-digit percentage increases from last year and inventories have risen in the double digits, moving home sales more toward a neutral or a buyers’ market.
