Washington State Employees Credit Union (WSECU) is welcoming the community to reduce the risk of identity theft by getting rid of old tax returns, bank statements and other personal papers at a Shred & Share in Everett. At the same time, it is a community sharing event for the local food bank.
Everyone, regardless of WSECU membership, is welcome to bring three boxes of documents – or up to approximately 150 pounds – for free shredding on site from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 404 128th St. SW, Everett. Bring nonperishable food donations, which will be distributed to area food banks.
The Shred and Share idea resulted from the credit union wanting both to provide a service to the public and help others in need. Participants may enter to win a personal document shredder to be awarded after the shred day. Gifts and refreshments will also be offered.
Dedicated to providing outstanding member service for 50 years, Washington State Employees Credit Union has more than $1.6 billion in assets, 160,000 members and 18 branches across Washington. Membership is open to public employees and their family members.
