Bothell’s Nastech loses $10.7 million

Nastech Pharmaceutical Co. of Bothell lost $10.7 million, or 50 cents a share, during the fourth quarter of last year, compared with an $8.9 million loss for the same quarter in 2005. Despite that, the developer of nasally inhaled medications reduced its full-year loss from $32 million in 2005 to less than $27 million last year. That was due to a fast climb in revenue, from $7.4 million in 2005 to more than $28 million last year, thanks to partnership deals with Procter &Gamble Pharmaceuticals and others. But research and development expenses also went up.
