There has not been much affection for the Boeing Co. in Olympia this year after the company last fall named Charleston, S.C., as the home of their second 787 jet line.
But Boeing is about to get some attention today when Sen. Mike Hewitt, R-Walla Walla, speaks about Senate Resolution 8676, a measure meant to honor Snohomish County’s largest employer.
The resolution acknowledges the first flight of Boeing’s 787 jet last December and notes the 200,000 aerospace-related jobs in the state.
Hewitt wasn’t happy with some of the other Boeing-related legislation proposed this year, such as one bill that would require Boeing to give up its tax incentives if it sends too much 787 work to South Carolina.
