EVERETT — Tacoma-based SC Fuels has purchased Everett’s McEvoy Oil Co. for an undisclosed amount.
The family-owned company, which sells fuel oil, commercial fuel and a line of lubricants and industrial greases, said the Everett operation will provide service to Snohomish County, Cle Elum, King County’s eastside and a portion of Seattle.
It employs eight people.
Mitch Johnson, SC Fuels general manager, said he hopes to expand the heating oil and commercial fuel part of the business.
He said he also plans to clean up the facility, which is located at 3817 Hewitt Ave.
“Expect to see some spit and polish,” he said. “We want the people of Everett and Snohomish County to be proud that we’re there, and we also intend to be active in the community.”
Brian Kaes, retail operations manager, said the company “prides itself on operating an immaculate facility.”
He said the company’s underground fuel tanks are continually monitored electronically for leaks.
