Update on aerospace summit: Gregoire to attend

Gov. Chris Gregoire has shuffled around plans with the president in order to attend the fourth annual governor’s aerospace summit tomorrow.

Yesterday, Gregoire canceled her appearance in order to accommodate President Barack Obama’s visit to Seattle. Obama will be in town to support the campaign of Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., who is facing Republican challenger Dino Rossi.

Although Gregoire’s schedule is changing “by the minute,” she plans to be at the aerospace summit at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, a spokeswoman for the governor said this afternoon.

The Aerospace Futures Alliance is organizing the governor’s aerospace summit, which is being held at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Speakers include Boeing’s Scott Fancher, general manager of the 787 program, and local analyst Scott Hamilton, with Leeham Co.
