“4-H Photography Greats,” which features a camera-lens view of the world put into focus by 4-H photography students, is the newest exhibit at the Arts of Snohomish Gallery.
The exhibit covers all sorts of subjects and includes portraits and landscapes and scenes featuring architecture and nature. All the pieces are framed and for sale with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting Snohomish County 4-H clubs.
The organization known as 4-H was established in 1902 and has over the years grown to include more than agriculture and livestock, with youth working on projects that involve photography, computer science, rockets and performing arts.
“4-H Photography Greats” opens with a free catered reception to meet the young artists from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Arts of Snohomish Gallery, 105 Cedar Ave., Snohomish. The exhibit will be up through June.
Giving through art: The monoprints of artist Audineh Asaf, one of this year’s Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation Scholarship recipients, will be on display in the Edmonds Arts Commission Display Case.
A graduate of the University of Washington, Asaf begins a graduate program in the fall in interdisciplinary arts at Goddard College, combining visual arts, social justice and grant writing. Her lifetime goal is to offer art workshops to disadvantaged groups in the Snohomish County community.
Asaf’s work will remain on display starting Tuesday and through July 30 at the Frances Anderson Center main entrance, 700 Main St., Edmonds.
