It’s noon. You’re hungry. You need a break from your daily routine. Rather than working, you want to be looking at videos or recipes or rumors about Apple’s latest plans for world domination.
We can help you with that.
Every Monday through Friday around this time, we’ll post useful and amusing tidbits from around the Internet. Check them out on your lunch break or later in the day when your boss isn’t looking. Here are a few to get you started:
Life in Greenland: The Boston Globe’s Big Picture blog has a gallery featuring the ice caps, landscape and people of the far northern island. If all that ice makes you a little chilly, check out two very summer-themed galleries on the blog: Dive Right In and Lightning.
If you’re a fan of “Mad Men” on AMC, you can tide yourself over until the premiere on Sunday with Mad Men Yourself, which lets you choose a physique, hair, clothes, accessories and even a stylish Sterling Cooper background for your cartoon self. Or check out Bruce Handy’s feature on the show in Vanity Fair. It’s a bit of an epic, but the photos by Annie Leibovitz are worth a look.
Use Facebook? In a recent Slate article, Farhad Manjoo suggests four ways the social networking site could be improved.
Finally, we’d like you to know that we recently acquired a copy of our birth certificate, and it was from Kenya. With a little help from the Kenyan Birth Certificate Generator, yours can be, too (just don’t use your actual personal information. You ARE making a fake birth certificate, after all).
