A$AP Rocky is heading to Seattle, and he’s bringing some friends along for support.
The rapper is headlining the WaMu Theater at 7 p.m. Nov. 11, with openers including Tyler, the Creator, Danny Brown and Vince Staples — all stars in their own right.
That said, A$AP Rocky is the big draw. The New York rapper hit the ground running about five years ago, with buzz-building mix-tapes leading to a deal with Sony Records.
The label’s investment seems to have paid off quickly. The rapper’s first two albums, “Long. Live. A$AP” and this year’s “At.Long.Last.A$AP,” both debuted at No. 1. He’s touring now behind that second album, which features the hit singles “Electric Body” and “L$D.”
Tickets are $46.50 at ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000.
A string of shows also will keep the Showbox SoDo in Seattle busy next week.
First up is Mac Miller, who will roll into the SoDo for a show 8 p.m. Nov. 9. The 23-year-old emcee has surprised some with his style, which is a throwback to the type of hip-hop popular before he was even born.
He also first found fame — and won a record deal — thanks to some well-received mixtapes. He’s touring now after the September release of his new album, “GO:OD A.M.”
Tickets are $32 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
Then, the SoDo will host the Trey Anastasio Band at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10.
Anastasio rose to fame as the frontman for the famed jam band Phish. With that group now taking long breaks between its tours, Anastasio is free to pursue his many side projects and solo works.
He’s hitting Seattle now just weeks after the release of his latest record, “Paper Wheels.”
That record was originally expected early in 2015, but got delayed — a somewhat ironic twist, considering Anastasio recorded the album quickly with his band in a freewheeling atmosphere, doing only one or two takes of most tracks.
Tickets are $42.50 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
Finally, Internet-bred electro-pop star Halsey will play the SoDo at 9 p.m. Nov. 12.
The stylish singer first won a following for her dark take on pop through YouTube, and then landed a record deal. Since then, she’s released an EP and a full-length album.
The latter, “Badlands,” saw release early this year, hitting No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It featured the hit single “Americana.”
Tickets are $20.50 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
A couple of concerts also will come to the SoDo’s sister venue, the Showbox, in downtown Seattle, with Cherub playing the Showbox at 9 p.m. Nov. 6.
The Tennessee duo tosses all sorts of club-friendly sounds into its musical blender to come up with a pastiche of disco, electronica and pop.
It’s touring now behind its latest album, “Man of the Hour.”
Tickets are $22 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
Finally, Mayday Parade will play the Showbox at 7 p.m. Nov. 7. The emo-pop band from Florida is touring now behind “Black Lines,” which saw release in early October.
The group first made its mark in 2007, when “A Lesson in Romantics” hit the charts.
Since then, it has won a loyal audience for its heart-on-sleeve rock.
Tickets are $25 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
