Actor William Daniels played hero Saturday when he reportedly foiled a would-be break-in at his home in California.

The former “Boy Meets World” star, who played beloved teacher George Feeny on the sitcom for seven seasons, was in his San Fernando Valley home with wife Bonnie Bartlett when an intruder tried to kick in the back door just before 9:30 p.m., according to TMZ.

Daniels, 91, quickly turned on the lights, which spooked the wannabe swiper enough to send him or her running.

“Luckily, Mr. Daniels was able to frighten away the person and the LAPD quickly responded,” the star’s publicist told ABC7 in a statement. “They are both well. Mr. Daniels thanks all his fans for their concern.”

The outlet also reported that despite a spat of burglaries in recent months that have been targeting high-profile celebrities, police do not believe Daniels and his wife were targeted.

Will Friedle, who played Eric Matthews, Feeny’s neighbor and student on “Boy Meets World,” tweeted his support for his former co-star.

“Don’t ever mess with Mr. Feeny! #LoveYouBillAndBonnie,” he wrote.

A spokesperson for the San Fernando Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In addition to “Boy Meets World,” Daniels is also known for roles in “St. Elsewhere,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “1776” and as the voice of K.I.T.T. in “Knight Rider.”
