Here’s a way to avoid a pricey gym membership while keeping off those extra winter pounds: Join an adult basketball league.
Everett Parks and Recreation teamed up with the Bulldog League of Snohomish to offer basketball for adults this winter season.
They’re organizing men’s, women’s and co-ed basketball teams for all skill levels. Play begins in November, just when high-calorie holidays begin.
Professional coaches and managers will keep track of individual and team statistics. Games are planned for Sundays and Mondays at Everett High School, 2416 Colby Ave.; Jackson High School, 1508 136th St. SE; and Evergreen Middle School, 7621 Beverly Lane.
