Monroe Community Band: The “Ring the Bells! It’s Christmas!” concert is at 7 p.m. Dec. 20 at Wagner Performing Arts Center, 639 W. Main St., Monroe. More at www.monroecommunityband.org.

Sonus Boreal: The Snohomish County women’s choir will perform “A Northern Sound Christmas” 2 and 6 p.m. on Dec. 21 at Marysville United Methodist Church, 5600 64th St. NE, Marysville. The featured soloist is Sheila Houlahan, a singer and actress from Seattle best known for her role as Optima in the movie “Wallflower.” Tickets are $15 adults, $10 seniors and students, groups of five or more are $12. The Holly and the Haggis: The Celtic band from Seattle will perform a Christmas concert at 3 p.m. Dec. 22 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2301 Hoyt Ave., Everett. The band blends vocal harmonies with fiddle, pipes, flute, guitar and percussion. Admission is free, but the suggested donation is $20. Youth 18 and younger get in free. Call 425-252-4129.

Dan and Claudia Zanes: The Grammy Award winner and Haitian-American jazz vocalist will perform at 11 a.m. Jan. 11 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. The duo will perform Zanes’ children’s music at the Saturday matinee, as well as folk and blues classics from their songbook, “Dan Zanes’ House Party!: A Family Roots Music Treasury.” Tickets are $10. Cascade Symphony Orchestra: The Edmonds’ orchestra’s “Happy Birthday, Ludwig!” concert is at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. The program includes Debussy’s “Printemps, Suite Symphonique,” Shostakovich’s “Gadfly Suite” and Beethoven’s “Triple Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano.” Featured performers are Mae Lin on violin, Eric Han on cello and Jessica Choe on piano. Mavis Staples: The rhythm and blues and gospel singer will perform at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. Staples is known for hits such as “Your Good Fortune,” “I’ve Learned To Do Without You” and “I’ll Take You There.” Stephanie Anne Johnson, a contestant during season five of NBC’s “The Voice,” is the opener.
