Audi’s all-new 2025 S5 combines dynamic design and spacious interior with improved handling

and latest technology in a mid-sized sedan offering.

The next chapter in Audi’s premium mid-size sedan segment is wider, longer and taller, offering

extra rear passenger legroom and more cargo space in a surprisingly large rear lift-back trunk.

Add more power, improved driving dynamics, the latest technology, and an all-new design to the

mix to leaves customers wanting for nothing.

S5 comes in three trims: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. Each builds upon the previous

one, offering more features and luxury.

My tester, the Prestige trim, was powered by a 3.0L TFSI V6 engine producing 362 horsepower

and 406 lb-ft, mated to the 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and directing power to

standard quattro all-wheel drive and a standard sport rear differential. The combination covers

0-to-60 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds, while offering 28 miles per gallon fuel economy down the

highway.

The completely redesigned exterior benefits from a clean and powerful stance to dramatically

enhance its sculpted proportions. S5 includes 20-inch, five-double V-spoke wheels with large,

low-profile tires, visually shortened deck lid which is edged with a striking lip spoiler, anthracite

Audi rings, and an Ascari Blue metallic coat of enamel.

Passengers fall into the low center of gravity S5, which creates a sports car vibe. All seats are

covered with fine Nappa leather, with the front seats benefiting from heat, ventilation, lumbar

and massage functions.

A lengthy list of luxurious amenities are highlighted by a Bang & Olufson 3D sound system,

panoramic glass with variable light control, acoustic front glass, head-up display, Audi virtual

cockpit with 11.9-inch screen and smartphone interface, 14.5-inch center screen, plus an

additional 10.9-inch MMI passenger display.

Other goodies include USB power delivery, top view camera system, three-zone climate control,

carbon micro-twill inlays, Audi navigation plus, aluminum front door sill illuminated with the S

logo, and a wireless phone charging pad.

S5 offers several Audi drive select modes: Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and Individual. Each mode

adjusts vehicle setting like suspension, steering, throttle response and transmission behavior to

suit different driving preferences ad conditions.

My favorites were Comfort and Dynamic. Comfort prioritizes a smooth, comfortable ride by

softening the suspension and steering, overriding throttle and transmission inputs. When the

mood suits, Dynamic enhances performance by stiffening the suspension, increasing throttle

response steering feedback, holding the gears longer to create a sportier feel.

The new Audi A5 models feature Audi assistant, an AI-powered adaptive voice control that

understands natural language. The driver can activate the assistant via the voice command

“Hey Audi” or via a button on the steering wheel, and it can be used to execute various vehicle

functions such as climate control or initiating navigation.

Completing the S5 package is an extensive list of safety and convenience features. Highlights

include adaptive cruise control with lane guidance, automated emergency braking, blind-spot

monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, park assist plus, LED headlamps and taillights, exit

warning and an advanced airbag protection system.
