Paintings by Anita West are on display through Dec. 14 at the Edmonds Library, 650 Main St., Edmonds.
West is a Seattle artist and educator who has taught art to students of all ages and skill levels.
Since 2004, she has spent much of her time traveling in the Arabian Gulf region, making and teaching art. In the Middle East, she was introduced to a world filled with pattern – on the domes of mosques, on walls, floors and sidewalks, and drawn with henna on women’s hands and feet. These influences can be seen in much of her work.

Holiday spirit arrives in ‘’Twas the Night’
In Studio East’s spin on the holiday poem “’Twas the Night Before Christmas,” reindeer dress like chorus girls, cats and mice share the same stage in harmony, and time knows no bounds when the swingin’ ’60s collide with prim and proper Victorian carolers.
Now in its 11th year, this Studio East tradition appeals to all ages. Performances are 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 26-Dec. 18, and 7 p.m. Fridays Dec. 2-16, at the Studio East Mainstage Theater, 11730 118th Ave. NE, Kirkland.
