Anyone who has listened to pop music, notably artists including Cher, T-Pain and country singer Faith Hiil, has heard the use of a piece of software called Auto-Tune that can nudge a voice slightly out of pitch back on to the right note.
Some singers try to hide it. Others use it more plainly for the rather robotic edge it gives a singing voice.
And others use it to comedic effect.
The folks at Barely Politcal are in the later camp.
“Auto-Tune the News” offers a collection of videos that include clips of newscasters, pundits and politicos providing the raw sound bites that are twisted — and we do mean twisted — through the magic of Auto-Tune.
Didn’t think folks like Katie Couric, Glenn Beck, Patrick Buchanan and Nancy Pelosi can sing? They probably can’t, except with the help of Auto-Tune.
