For this week’s video round-up, I had a clip all picked out featuring Sarah Silverman, the comic.
Her song, however, is very crude and edgy, filled with bleeped-out expletives. It also features Matt Damon. Maybe you’ve seen it? Anyway, I’m not going to put it up. It’s maybe a bit too much to actually host on this blog.
But I will say this: If you’re curious and don’t mind the crude content, you can see it by clicking here .
And now, on to videos that aren’t chock full of inappropriateness.
Bruce Freaking Springsteen — “Girls in Their Summer Clothes” — Video
This video — shot on what has got to be the Jersey Shore, right? — gets by with minimal effects and fairly little style, mainly because it’s a good song from Bruce Freaking Springsteen.
Vampire Weekend — “Walcott” and “One (Blake’s Got a New Face)” — Live
Vampire Weekend, whose terrific debut record cracked the Billboard Top 20, perform two songs from that self-titled album on this, a part of “The Take-Away Show,” a series of online videos. It’s worth mentioning the album versions of these songs are faster. (PS: There is some brief bad language, kids, so don’t go repeating those four-letter words, right?)
The Raveonettes — “You Want the Candy” — Video
Fuzzed-out rock and roll rarely sounds as good as it does when it’s coming from the Raveonettes. Here, for an infectious single from their upcoming album “Lust Lust Lust,” the duo strut out their usual take on rock and roll. Ignoring for a fact the girls in their underwear, the behind-the-scenes video is a bit mediocre. The song is not.
