Professional travel guide and author Dave Fox will read from and sign his new book, “Getting Lost: Mishaps of an Accidental Nomad,” at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Edmonds Bookshop. Fox will share travel stories from his many trips as a guide with Rick Steves.
Tom Clavin will read from and sign “Halsey’s Typhoon: The Story of a Fighting Admiral, an Epic Storm, and an Untold Rescue” at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the University Book Store in Mill Creek. Clavin researched declassified documents form World War II to tell the story of Adm. William Halsey’s fleet that sailed into one of the most powerful storms of the century in December 1944.
Kirby Larson, local author of books for young readers, reads from and signs “Hattie Big Sky” at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Third Place Books. Larson’s novel, based on her grandmother’s journals, recounts the sometimes-harrowing adventures of homesteading in Montana and coping with anti-German sentiment in America during World War I.
