For thousands of years, the Chinese have perfected acrobatic routines. This week, as many as two dozen performers will share their traditionally graceful yet action-packed moves with audiences at Edmonds Center for the Arts during two evening shows (and one school-day matinee).
Now in its 30th year of touring the United States, the Golden Dragon Acrobatics group comes from China’s Hebei Province. Its performers include athletes, actors and artists.
The Edmonds shows will involve hoop diving, unicycle bike flips, a rolling balance contortionist, chair-stacking handstands and a lion-and-dragon symbolic dance routine.
“This is the first time Golden Dragon Acrobats will play at ECA,” center executive director Joe McIalwain said. “It is a show that is perfect for all ages. The performers are extremely talented and will provide audiences with a spectacular show.”
