Capri pants for men: European designer Sonja de Lennart created the capri pant for women in the late 1940s. It was named for Italy’s Isle of Capri. In recent runway shows, capri pants have been shown on men.
When asked to try men’s capris, a New York reporter responded with something unprintable.
Then he had questions: What about hairy ankles? Shoes or sandals? What about socks? Tucked or untucked?
The answers: You don’t worry about hairy ankles in shorts; don’t worry about them in capris.
Proper footwear is the most likely place to go wrong. Stick to slip-on sneakers or boat shoes, and under no circumstances should one wear socks.
Untucked. Just because.
The most important accessory: confidence. You might feel better calling them clam diggers. Then again, you might not.
