Fontana a finisher? Vanessa Fontana is one episode away from becoming Paris Hilton’s new best friend on the aptly titled MTV reality show “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF.”

We checked in with the 22-year-old while she was visiting her parents in Mount Vernon for Thanksgiving, to discuss the last episode and get insight into the tonight’s finale, at 10 on MTV.

Q: During a photo shoot challenge, you called Hilton “so hot,” and compared her to a porcelain doll. Were you worried it would sound like kissing up?

A: Not when we were filming. … We were doing the shoot for a couple of hours. They clipped every compliment and put them all together in a string. They clip it however they want.

Q: For last episode’s final challenge, Hilton lied to each of you.

A: That was hell.

Q: She said you were eliminated to see your reaction, to see who really cared about being her friend. While I understand her motive, why would you want to be friends with someone who would put you through that?

A: It’s a show. You have to keep that in mind. So that’s not going to stop me from wanting to be her friend. I can understand why she wanted to do that. Actually, they didn’t show everything that happened. After … they walked us to the car and said we have to do one more thing, and you’re going to have to wait a few minutes. And they brought us to separate rooms, where we sat for a good two hours, thinking we were eliminated. So it was two hours of hell, where you were just crying.

Q: On tonight’s finale, you get a BFF ring from Hilton, which you flaunt in front of Brittany. That seems kind of cruel. Did it bother you doing that?

A: You kind of have to. If they ask you to do something, you have to do it.

Q: The preview hints that maybe Hilton picks both of you — that there isn’t a single winner. Can you say if one of you walks away with the crown?

A: I don’t know if I can say that or not. I’m not sure.
