Simply polished stones, sparkling jewel centerpieces and smoothed-out rocks used in knife blades are some of the items to be displayed at the Everett Rock &Gem Club’s 57th annual show Saturday and Sunday.
Show organizer Mel Buhr said visitors can browse 24 exhibits and can watch five demonstrators at work throughout the weekend.
This year’s featured artist is Carol Cimolino, whose jewelry and knives incorporate rock and gemstone pieces found as close as Oregon and as far away as Australia and Africa. Cimolino also will be one of the demonstrators.
The show’s annual attractions, such as gemstone identification and jewelry design consultations, will fill both days. Children’s activities include mineral bingo and a spin-a-wheel prize game.
