50 YEARS AGO (1959)
Recently married were Darlene Ann Thompson and Brian L. Hegeberg. The Rev. Carlton Goodwin performed the ceremony at Everett’s First Baptist Church. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.E. Niebergail of Everett, and he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hegeberg of Marysville. June Ramstad sang, accompanied by her daughter Catherine.
North Creek Grange was exemplifying the third and fourth degrees in its hall Thursdays. Their officers were Wayne Carstensen, Bertha Cheever, Charlotte Carstensen, Wilma Johnson, Herman Pedersen, Paul Ross, Pearl Nelson, Ray Bates, Kay Oleson, John Hingeveld, Grace Johnson, Ethell James, Lydia Bates and Nellie Pedersen.
25 YEARS AGO (1984)
Brent Romaneschi and Steven Nickerson, two Everett students at Washington State University, were helping to raise money for the American Cancer Society. They were taking part in an Apple Bowl run staged by the Kappa Sigma fraternities at the WSU and UW campuses as a preliminary to the annual Cougar-Husky football game.
The Children’s Foundation of General Hospital of Everett was conducting a pre-Christmas jewelry sale in the hospital’s small dining room. Proceeds would benefit the foundation.
