Each year a new batch of holiday music arrives to add fresh sounds to this festive season.

Whether your gift list includes CDs or MP3s, we found a bit of something for everyone.

Holly, jolly listening.

She &Him: A Very She &Him Christmas

The duo of Zooey Deschanel (the She) and M. Ward (the Him) introduce an album that harkens to The Carpenters, Vince Guaraldi, The Beach Boys and Elvis Presley. The music is straight forward and spare, often just Deschanel and Ward’s unique voices along with an acoustic guitar. The classic include “Sleigh Ride,” and “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” It’s a groovy, hipsters holiday.

Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album, Volume 2

The famous singing schoolmates from Glee have released a second Christmas album. This one has a rollicking version of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” and a touching take on Joni Mitchell’s “River.”

Marcus Roberts Trio: Celebrating Christmas

Jazz fans will love these terrific interpretations of traditional holiday songs. Roberts, a pianist, plays beautifully along with a bass and drums. Songs include, “Silent Night,” “Frosty the Snowman,” and “We Three Kings.”

Michael Buble: “Christmas”

The Canadian swooner just keeps getting more popular and better. His “Christmas” album includes favorite songs “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” “Santa Baby,” and in a duet with Shania Twain, “White Christmas.” The songs are sultry with a jazz big band backing up Buble’s silky voice.
