Bear is very unique looking dog! He has a very endearing under-bite that makes him look very silly. This shy guy has lived with children and done well as long as they are gentle with him. Bear lived with another dog successfully for a couple of years until a fight broke out. At this time he will need to be the only pet in the home. (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)
The Everett Animal Shelter hosts thousands of stray and unwanted animals every year. Some are adopted right away, but some sit in the shelter for weeks at a time, waiting for a home. The shelter has dogs and cats, as well as some rabbits and birds, all looking for a loving home.
All pets are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given a identifying microchip before they are adopted. Take a look at some of the dogs, cats and other animals that are available for adoption at the shelter now. Here is the previous post featuring animals up for adoption.
If you’re interested in adopting an animal, the shelter is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 425-257-6000.
Dodger is a super active young dog. He will need a home that will provide plenty of daily exercise and he would make a great running partner! Dodger is a bit bossy with other dogs but may do OK with a submissive female. He will need a meet-and-greet with any resident canines. Dodger will need secure confinement when left alone as he is quite adventurous. We are unsure how he will do with cats but are requiring a feline free home at this time. Harold is a very active guy looking for a home that is committed to training him. He has developed some bad habits such as marking and chewing household items when he becomes bored. Any children in Harold’s new home should be over 13 years old and able to participate in his training. He will need a meet-and-greet with any resident canines prior to adoption. His new home needs to be feline free. Harold is known to be quite an escape artist so he cannot be left alone outside or he will find a way to seek his own adventures. Raven arrived at the shelter with a very significant skin infection that was caused most likely by skin allergies. She has been on treatment here for quite awhile and is now ready to move on to a home that will continue this treatment. She is a beautiful dog with lots of potential. She will need an adult home without any felines. She seems to do OK with other dogs but will need to meet them first. Please make sure before adding this lady to your family that you have the financial resources and commitment to provide her everything she needs. (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)
Winston is our wild child! He is super active with a heart of gold. This guy is in need of training and plenty of daily exercise and activities. He is not suited for any type of apartment living — he would not be happy and neither would his neighbors. He has done OK with other dogs here but will need a meet-and-greet. Winston is sure to chase cats so he will need a feline-free home. He does not realize how big he is and will knock small children over in all his exuberance! (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)
