Home Design: The Magnolia

The Magnolia is contemporary looking but not plain. It has rock cornices on the corners in the front, and decorative fascia on the roofline.

It’s a good plan for a sloping lot, In the back, the covered deck on the first level is also a covered patio on the basement level.

On the left of the entry is a vaulted formal dining area. The dining area is open to the living room in the rear, which is also vaulted, with big windows across the back of the living room and the nook.

The C-shaped kitchen counter open to the living room by a half wall is ideal for entertaining. Along the left wall is the range/oven, refrigerator, a pantry, and, behind a pocket door, the utility room with a door to the two-car garage.

Off the nook is the door to the master suite. This room is large and open with the huge walk-in closet and master bath. The toilet is a private area with its own window. The oversized tub has a sink on each side, and there’s a large shower in the corner.

The two other upstairs bedrooms have a full bath with a tub and two sinks between them. One room has a wall closet and a built-in desk while the other room has a larger walk-in closet. Across the hall are large linen closet and a small niche for collectibles.

Downstairs has an optional bedroom as well as a family room and a guest suite or in-law suite.

Both the guest room and family room have access to a full bath.
