What are you doing this weekend?
Here are two activities — our top picks from the weekly H&G calendar — to consider just in case you aren’t already planning to be out weeding, planting and getting the garden ready for another season.
Eggtacular: Take the kids to an Easter egg hunt at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 24 at Emery’s Garden, 2829 164th St. SW, Lynnwood.
Eggs, filled with candy and toys, will be planted all over the nursery for ages 10 and younger.
Bring a basket to collect your eggs. At 10 a.m., judging will begin for the nursery’s Easter bonnet contest in which customers are invited bring their own home-decorated hats to compete for a $50 gift certificate prize.
Call 425-743-4555 or see www.emerysgarden.com for more information.
Tiptoe through the tulips: If eggs aren’t your thing, why not head up to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, going on through April 30 in rural Mount Vernon and La Conner.
To plan your trip or check on bloom activity, see www.tulips.com/bloommap.cfm or call 360-428-5959.
Send us your events: Does your garden club or nonprofit group have an event, tour or plant sale coming up this spring or summer?
Put it in The Herald’s Home & Garden section: Send the name of your group, the hours, dates and address of your event, your website or e-mail address, ticket prices and, don’t forget, a phone number for the public to call.
Send all information to Sarah Jackson at sjackson@heraldnet.com. Call 425-339-3037 with questions.
