Girls, it’s time to get your game on.
Board game that is.
The gaming groups GeekGirlCon and Dragonflight are inviting geek girls to test their mettle during a board game party Sunday at AFK Tavern in Everett.
Game play is free and the event is for all ages and all skill levels.
Dragonflight is a community organization dedicated to promoting all manner of gaming. Dragonflight Conventions, a mainstay of the Northwest convention scene and game community, is teaming up with GeekGirlCon, which celebrates the female geek culture, for this best in board games event to hone your skills and have some fun doing it.
AFK Tavern is a gaming tavern, but be aware the food is not free.
The GeekGirlCon and Dragonflight board game party goes from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at AFK Tavern, 1510 41st St., Everett. All game play is free. Visitors must pay for their food.

In addition to the board game party, GeekGirlCon is hosting its second convention Aug. 11 and 12 in Seattle, said GeekGirlCon public relations manager Susie Rantz.
Rantz said the first convention last October drew nearly 4,000 people, including 400 attendees younger than 10.
“They had so much fun, they demanded a second convention,” Rantz said.
