It’s never too early to be a keeper of streams.
Take a Junior Streamkeepers class from 3 to 5 p.m. April 14 at the Northwest Stream Center, McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
Kids will learn about the life cycles of salmon, followed by a hands-on introduction to the bottom of the fish food chain, aquatic insects.
Students, led by ecologists, will role-play as polluters causing water quality problems and will walk along North Creek for an introduction to native plant identification. This class is recommended for students in at least first grade.
Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are $5 for members of the Adopt-A-Stream Foundation and $7 for nonmembers. Call 425-316-8592 or write aasf@streamkeeper.org.
