You may have heard (as though you could avoid it) predictions for snow this weekend. It seems unlikely that there’ll be enough for anyone to make much of a snowman, but then, some scientists in the UK have made the world’s tiniest snowman without any snow at all. According to the Daily Mail, the snowman is made of two itty-bitty tin beads and is only 0.01 mm across.
Speaking of technology: if you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you might like the Appvent Calendar, where one free game for your gadget is being unveiled every day through the 24th.
Not a gift guide, but … I just lost about half an hour to The Onion A.V. Club’s Best of the Decade lists. They include not only the expected, such as best movies and best books, but also more offbeat lists such as best comics, best TV episodes and best bad films. You can spend a couple pleasant hours reading them all — and maybe getting gift inspiration for the book, music, movie and video-game buffs in your life.
