Santa doesn’t have to be Scandinavian and neither do you to drink glogg, eat a traditional Nordic sandwich or be entertained by fiddlers and folk dancers during Yulefest at the Nordic Heritage Museum.
Children can have their pictures taken with Santa for $5 and make holiday ornaments at the free children’s activities area.
Visitors to the museum’s Nordic Christmas celebration can peruse hundreds of handcrafted items and listen to Scandinavian musical performances.
The Nordic Cafe will serve traditional sandwiches and, in the Bodega, special Scandinavian beverages such as glogg — a version of hot spiced wine — will be poured along with a selection of Nordic beers. The Kaffestuga in the Dream of America exhibit offers coffee, cookies and pastries for sale.
Yulefest is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (the Bodega will be open until 6 p.m. Saturday) at the Nordic Heritage Museum, 3014 NW 67th St., Seattle. Suggested donation is $3 for adults and $1 for children under 12; kids under 5 get in free.
