It will include compositions by Niels Gate and performances by the winners of the Snohomish County Music Teachers Association Competition. Arts of Snohomish: The featured artist for October is oil painter Kathy Sterley, The gallery, 1024 First St., Suite 104, Snohomish, is open from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

Gallery North: The October exhibit is “Silent Voyage,” colorful photos by Silena Wei Chen. Artist reception set for 2-5 p.m. Oct. 8 and 5-8 p.m. Oct. 20. The gallery, 410 Main St., Edmonds, is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Cascadia Art Museum: Ongoing through November is “The Art of Howard Duell,” featuring the work of a leading mid-century Northwest sculptor and painter who lived in Edmonds. Showing through Nov. 20 are “Northwest Arts & Crafts Movement: The Chase Family and Friends,” showcasing the work of a prominent family in Washington state cultural history, and “The Art of Reading,” a collection of works depicting books and the act of reading either as the main subject or hidden away in the periphery of the composition. Museum of Northwest Art: “Arreguín: Painter from the New World” showcases Northwest artist Alfredo Arreguín, one of the most accomplished Latino artists in the nation. Over his long, successful career, Arreguín has addressed his Mexican-American heritage by commemorating historic figures and political activists. The exhibit, curated by Matthew Kangas, runs through Oct. 9 at the museum, 121 S. First St. La Conner.

Meet Me at the Movies: This interactive film program celebrates the wonder of film and its ability to connect us with memories. As part of ECA’s Dementia-Inclusive Series, this program is designed for people with memory loss and their care partners, and can be enjoyed by all adults.
