In an interview with Headline News’ Showbiz Tonight, Kid Rock says he’s embarrassed by the tape that features him and holier-than-thou former Creed frontman Scott Stapp sharing sexual exploits with four chicas in a trailer after a concert.
A “film” distributor wants to sell the tape, but Mr. Rock and Stapp have filed a lawsuit trying to stop that from happening.
So, what’s he embarrassed about?
Well, it’s not about the sex, or about Stapp.
It’s about the company he says this puts him in, because “I’m the last person, if you check my track record, that goes along with something that goes on in the mainstream,” he tells Headline News.
“It seems to be very popular today to be a celebrity and tape yourself having sex.”
Apparently, Kid Rock thinks he’s not a mainstream kind of guy.
Of course, it seems to be very popular today to have been in a relationship with Pamela Anderson, and he’s done that, so…
So, then, if you’re not the type of guy to tape yourself having sex, what happened, Kid?
“He came in the room with his camera and I’m standing there and these girls are with me and he’s standing there with a camera or something and he’s kinda got his camera,” he explains.
So, we’ve got Kid Rock, some girls, and a guy with a camera, standing there, with a camera or something.
“And I’m like, ‘Dude, what’s with the camera?’” Rock continues. “And he’s like, ‘No, no.’ And I’m like, ‘Whatever, whatever.’
“I don’t know. I might not have been exactly sober at the time.”
And, to think, none of us believed there was a perfectly good explanation.
