Outdoor movies

Family-friendly movies, shown on big screens or walls outdoors, in communities throughout Snohomish County, are an inexpensive way to enjoy some PG-rated fun.

Pack up a picnic and spread out a blanket. Some places sell hot dogs and soft drinks; some are strictly movie madness.

The first screening of the season is June 22 in Granite Falls.

Arlington Outdoor Cinema: Terrace Park, 809 Fifth St. Thursdays at dark, approximately 9 p.m.; Karaoke at 7 p.m. before movie.

Everett, Cinema Under the Stars: Thornton A. Sullivan Park at Silver Lake at Camp Patterson field, 11405 Silver Lake Road, Everett. Friday evenings.
