Over-the-Hill-Hikers: Various times on Thursdays, Edmonds Senior Center, 220 Railroad Ave.; www.scscedmonds.org. Most trips cost $13 for senior center members and $16 for nonmembers. Call Larry Weimer, 425-513-9374, before signing up for the trip. For all hikes meet and park at United Methodist Church, 828 Caspers St., Edmonds. Each hike is limited to 10 people.

n Camano Island: Meet at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 6 at Quilceda Village Walmart. Birding on Eide Road, English Boom, Iverson Spit, Triangle Cove and elsewhere. Leader: Virginia Clark, 360-435-3750.

n Point Roberts and Boundary Bay, B.C.: Meet at 7 a.m. Sept. 13 at Quilceda Village Walmart. Bring your U.S. passport or enhanced driver’s license. Shorebirds, waterfowl, seabirds, raptors and maybe a puffin or phalorope. Leader: Virginia Clark, 360-435-3750.

n Samish Flats and Samish Island: Meet at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 20 at Quilceda Village Walmart. Looking for waterfowl, seabirds, shorebirds and raptors before hunting season begins. Leader: Virginia Clark, 360-435-3750.

n Sequim area; Meet at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 27 at the Edmonds Marsh (South of W. Dayton Street). We will bird Sequim Bay, Dungeness Recreational Area, and other spots. Lots of waterfowl and shorebirds. Leaders: Virginia Clark, 360-435-3750, Art Wait, 360-563-0181.

n Sept. 10, annual Hike-a-thon fundraiser. An easy hike for families, a more challenging hike for adventure seekers, and a kayaking trip to Hope Island on the Olympic Peninsula. More information at cascade.sierraclub.org (click on the information link).
