ach Road in Edmonds. A watersports day camp with weekly sessions 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, until Sept. 2, $350 per child. • Clamming at Birch Bay; Depart at 8 a.m. July 14 from the recreation office in Forest Park. Transportation, instruction and cooking equipment provided. Learn to dig and identify clams. Cook them at Birch Bay State Park. Return about 4 p.m. Fee $39 adult, $29 youth (ages 6 to 17, with adult) State shellfish/seaweed harvest license required, available at sporting goods stores or online at fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov. • Mid-Whidbey Island; meet at 7:30 a.m. June 28 at Quilceda Village Walmart lot. Birding will be in the area between Crockett Lake and Swantown on Whidbey Island. Leaders: Virginia Clark 360-435-3750, Art Wait 360-563-0181.

• Stevens Pass area; meet at 7 a.m. July 5 at Monroe park-and-ride on U.S. 2. Will visit the Old Cascades Highway, Smithbrook Road and maybe the ski slopes. Might see warblers, grouse, sparrows, flycatchers, ravens, nutcrackers, chipmunk and hare. Trip Leader: Virginia Clark, 360-435-3750.

•Snohomish and Ebey Island area; meet at 8 a.m. July 12 at Snohomish park-and-ride (junction of Highway 9 and Bickford Avenue). Short walk on the dike along Ebey Slough. Trip Leader: Art Wait 360-563-0181.

• Diablo Lake and Thunder Knob Trail; meet at 8 a.m. July 17 at Everett Mall (in the back, near the transit facility). 3.6 miles round trip, 425-foot elevation gain, moderately easy. Perfect for kids. Hat, water, and sunscreen essential. Leader: Jonathan Blubaugh, 425-244-7633, aracfi@msn.com.

• Blue Stilly Park and other areas nearby; meet at 8 a.m. July 19 at Quilceda Village Walmart lot. Virginia Clark is going to show us her neighborhood, including her feeders. She will provide lunch at her home. Leader: Virginia Clark, 360-435-3750.

• Mount Baker Highway; meet at 7 a.m. July 26 at Quilceda Village Walmart lot. Golden eagle, gray-crowned rosy-finch, ptarmigan, swifts, pipits, larks, and numerous mammals are possible. Expect wildflowers. Trip leaders: Art Wait, 360-563-0181, Virginia Clark, 360-435-3750.
