Sending greeting cards by snail mail, in the Internet age, can feel like an enormous chore.
First you have to remember the event. Then you have to get to the store, find a decent card, get it home, sign it, address it, add postage and, finally, remember to mail it on time.
Send Out Cards, a Salt Lake City-based greeting card mailing service, aims to change all that.
Beth Neibert of Monroe is one of many representatives for the business, which allows its users to select and personalize cards online, and then prints and mails them anywhere in the world and on whatever dates users request.
That means you can “send” your Christmas cards in September if you like to get a jump on things. You could also arrange to have birthday cards sent to every member of your family in a single afternoon.
You’ll never be “belated” again, thanks to the service’s planning calendar and reminder system.
“You can do it when you’re not busy,” Neibert said. “You don’t have any software that you have to upload or worry about maintaining.”
Basic packages start at $9.80 a month, which covers 10 cards a month. More expensive packages allow you to include digital photos and your own handwriting font. Prices do not include postage.
