It’s a picture book for adults and a love story for all ages.
Hot off the press is “The Pharos Gate: Griffin &Sabine’s Lost Correspondence.” It’s the final volume in Nick Bantock’s “Griffin and Sabine” best-selling fiction series that developed a cult following since “An Extraordinary Correspondence” was published in 1991.
The story about the relationship of two unlikely lovers is told with lush postcards, handwritten letters and fanciful artwork. In the series, Griffin is a London artist who makes postcards and Sabine is an artist in the South Pacific who illustrates stamps.
Readers can savor every word in the picturesque letters. It makes email look dreadfully dull.
The hardcover book, by Chronicle Books, is $24.95.
