The Seattle band Creamsicle is slated to perform July 23 in Marysville.

Red Curtain to spotlight live music, stand-up comedy

Two rock bands will take the stage in Marysville on July 23. Then, on July 29, six comedians will present an evening of adult stand-up.

Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts in Marysville will showcase local talent at two shows this month.

On July 23, local rock bands Nice to Be Pretty and Creamsicle will take the stage. Tickets for the all-ages show, which starts at 8 p.m., are $15.

Nice to be Pretty is a Seattle band that plays popular covers in a wide range of styles from artists including: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Avril Lavigne, Green Day, Pink, Nirvana, White Stripes, Aerosmith, Oliva Rodrigo, Led Zeppelin and many more.

Creamsicle offers original pop/rock/blues music, coupled with unique arrangements of a few covers. The band is known for its high-energy performances, sing-along choruses and killer hooks. Oftentimes dressed up in costumes or coordinated outfits, they are always ready to have a party onstage, according to a Red Curtain news release.

Then, at 8 p.m. July 29, the arts center will transform into a comedy club. The theater will welcome six Seattle-area comedians for an evening of adult stand-up comedy, featuring Deb Tahara, Vanessa Dawn, JR Berard, Juan Pablo Forno, Matt Benoit, and April Gallaty. Tickets for the show are $18.
