50 YEARS AGO (1958)
Looking over some of the instruments science students of Everett High School were to use in the study of atomic energy were Morris Hutchinson, head of the science department, and student Ellen Smith.
Don White, coach of the local American Legion junior baseball team, was to be honored at the regular meeting of Earl Faulkner Post, American Legion, in the Legion Home. Also scheduled for the evening were reports by Dave Isaacson and Art Cresell, co-chairmen of the annual Armistice Day banquet.
25 YEARS AGO (1983)
Everett City Council authorized contracts to purchase picnic shelters and other recreational equipment for Garfield Park. Harriett Griffith, a Riverside resident, urged the council to accept the bids. Mayor Bill Moore and his assistant, Joe Kozlovski, said the installations would be made within two weeks.
At a conference at the Holiday Inn sponsored by the Women Business Owners, Carol Trowbridge spoke on the need to develop a process that fit with “new age” workers and “group process.” Trowbridge, formerly a director at Everett Community College, was now training and development coordinator at Hewlett-Packard.
